High / Crossover Steer - Will these fit a LN106?

I was going to do the crossover steering conversion on my Hilux but seeing this site can probably afford the High Steer.

I already have the IFS power steering box, Superiors tie rod, and extended Steering shaft. What other parts are left for me to get?

Can anyone tell me if these parts from Sky will fit the Aussie Hilux and anyone dealt with Sky before?

Basically changes the fore/arf steering arm into a lateral steering arm. There are about 10billion threads on it, so search.

i would say those Sky arms would be opposite to what you need, seeing as though they are made for left hand drive..

I'm looking into going hi-steer but i think i'll get all my shit from snake cos at least i know it'll work well together. But thats just me.

yeah US arms are the wrong way around.
M+M Engineering/ABT make some nice Hi steer.
Its what I have ordered.
I will post up some pics when it arives.

ok so the parts for the highsteer will be bough from an Aussie supplier.

The IFS steering box fit kit @ $15 US and the u-bolt flip kits @ $110US for four are still gunna fit aren't they? The stuff is so much cheaper over there :(

you can do all those things for much cheaper over here, if you make the parts yourself

The IFS box mounting kit will fit but should be suplimented with these plates to strengthen the frame. Hilux frames are well known for developing cracks when the added sideways force of crossover is applied.

wen is yours arrivin. how much roon do u think you will hav for your tyres to compress without your tie rods hittin tha chassis, coz your not droppin your front hangers r u? i've ordered tha ORI stuff but im estimating a 8 month waitin period so if yours works out alright i might swap. be keen to see it wen its done

hey there, i think u will find that sky will make u some right hand drive arms if u ask them, i have delt with them b4 and they r gr8...

best bit about the sky arms is u can get them made 2 wot u want, flatter,longer,lower,higher,shorter.

i just shoot them an email and ask if i were u:)

Mine will be coming soon but I work slow so it might be a couple of months till I get it all together.
I have a long list of stuff Im doing and dont get much time to do it due to work and other comitments.
I think I will be going with maybe a 1" dropped crossmember.

Those Sky billet pitman arms look good .
What are peoples thoughts on those?
Not sure what pitman arm to use for my high steer.
Some people have said use the standard IFS arm with an adaptor.
Have also been sugested an 80 series arm.

Yeah Guts has snake gear with an 80 series pitman I believe.

Yep, late 80 or early 100 pitman arm.

One of my rod ends will hit the bottom of the rails on 1 side on compression but I can`t remember which side (think pass). It only JUST touches and isn`t enough to be a problem. I have no dropped hangers, but have extended the bump stops 30mm and am still getting about 19 inches of travel out at the wheel. Its not a lot of travel but I find it a good amount with the 25 odd I get out of the rear end (which I can get more out of if I want it, very easily)

Did you make those you buy em? if you bought them where from how much?

These just get welded onto the chassis rails?

i see you have sky manufacturing on here. you may get better prices from these other places... i dont know if theres a difference in right and left hand drive histeer but here it goes. i think the best prices are trailgear, and they also have a righthand drive version.

I changed my low steer to high steer a couple of years ago and got my arms off sky manufacturing, they where great to deal with and the prices are no where near the rip off of what snake charges.

I have a trail gear kit on mine, it runs a flat pitman arm. i have a 4" lift and no dropped hanger and mine does not hit anywhere. I believe it has a little to do with exactly where you mount it, i stuffed around with mine heaps to get it to be like this.

The whole kit was very cheap, though i did get a kit along with alot of other guys on outers (group buy), but the kit is already fairly cheap..
