Fuel consumption, Holen inj 5ltr in GQ?

Post by MONGREL »

Just wondering how others fuel economy is with this conversion??

I have dual fuel set up on mine at the moment and seriously thinkin of taking the gas system out so it can be tuned properly.
Thanks, Tim.

Im not expecting too much from it then.
Keeping of the loud pedel might be a bit harder now, has some cracks ruond the muffler so im just goin to get 3"cat back :D

Highway usage quoted there, is that at 100km,110km,120km? Smurf.

Simcoe, are you using gas injection setup? Didn't think it was possible to get that good economy from gas?

no not running gas injection Mongrel, im just "hoping" with all the head work done and custom speed sensor and new gas computer/mixer etc and keeping off the load pedal that it shouldnt be that thirsty!
or to put it bluntly, im hoping it's alot better then my 4.5..

iv also had some advise on exhausts and iv been told to get 3 inch for first half of the system then 2.5 from then on!
ie 3 inch from collector to 3 inch cat then 3 inch to muffler and 2.5 from the muffler out the bum!

iv already got a 2.5 inch system so i just need a 3 inch cat and piping for the front!

also Mongrel, what gearing and tyre's are you running?

Funny, that exhaust system you suggested... Is what mine has now, mines drops back to 2.5inch after the cat before the muffler, with the dual fuel.
Not sure on the diffs, 33inch tyre's at the moment.

the gearing will be my biggest "look into" im thinking..
currently sit at 2300@100km/h(GPS) 33's with 4.1 diffs!
110 see's about 2500..
sounds abit to much for my opinion for a v8 to be reving!
time will tell!
looking into 3.9's

also anyone got any hsv 304 headers lying around??
i need some!!
