Pretty sure there is a fusible link in the actual back of the cig light assembly, i dont see how that could affect the radio though, unless it is a dodgy after market install and they have tapped into the back of the cig plug for power/earth.

Grab a test light or multimeter, pull the dash apart and check that you are getting power the plugs, to rule out problems with the radio itself.
Cheers,
Dan.

fergot to mention the clock is also out, thus my thinking its a fuse

any other way to find the problem apart from pulling the dash apart, reallf CBF with that over something like this.

Its happend before about a month ago, in the same way. ive got a digital temperature gauge thats plugged in the cig lighter (too lazy to wire it up), i was taking that out so i could charge the gps and yeh..everything went

so yeh i dunno, cheers for the reply anyway!

So are you saying it had a blown fuse and you replaced it, then the new fuse blew again? Sounds like your cig lighter is coming apart, pretty common problem when you are pushing chargers in and out. See if you can get your hand behind the cig lighter and feel if its tight or coming apart. You might have to remove the facia panel to get to it. Probably find the retaining nut needs tightening up as a terminal is earthing out on something.
