Air Compressor

Post by SuPaTrUpA »

Putting a air tank in my Troopy in a week, Seen the compressors advertised in the supercheap catalogue, anyone used or had any experience with these ones, they have a small nice heavy duty on for $100.

Just want it to run the horns and also pump tyres when required.

I have never seen one used for any period of time but if you just want them to pump up your tyres than the supercheap comp would be OK for your application.

You would find most guys in this sight run the ARB air compressor as they use them to power there Air lockers, so they need something reliable.

They normally go for around $320.00.

Yea we got one - sort of bought it to compare with the ARB one. It doesent have the same capacity as the ARB (it would be about 1/2) but seems to work well although we havent done any work with it really. If you did get one of these to run your air tank then you are going to have to buy a pressure regulator (we have found that the ARB one is the cheapest) which I think is about $50 or so so that this make the supercheep one a bit more expensive.

This compressor would have to have a warrantee anyway so you couldnt go too far wrong.

This type of pump is ok for the occasional use, but can be a bit slow. If you're going to be doing a lot of inflating, spend the bucks on a better quality pump. I've been running a Thomas Blue Tongue over 10 years, with a tank to power the locker, and it's never missed a beat. Before that, I destroyed a $100 pump in less than a year.
