Im almost done chopping one front guard, just got to finish some off, add some metal due to cancer making bits fall off, glass it up then do the other side. Was an easier job than first expected.
Anyone used anything but fibreglass by the way? Dont much like the stuff.

Guard chop!!
Few more progress pics. Must be the slowest virtual; lift ever
Cut 30mm Out of the rear guard.
Then gently persuaded the inner guard to bend up ( with the aid of a very small cuts) to meet the new outer guard line. 33x12.5 BFG sitting in place for size.
Pretty much the finished product , just got to add flares.
Front rocker panel patch up. Still needs a cover over the hole between the guard and tub.

thought is should update this thread. I have finally finished the virtual lift man what alot of work , especially in the rear, (i hate welding cheese)
passenger side all finished
Current view from front
Front guards are still removable .
Zook is being painted in a week or so, then fit flares ,cage , Gti etc etc etc.
Is begging for some bigger rubber
note for zook owners: , don't test drive with out the bonnet catch or windscreen in place , bonnets combined with steering wheels hurt hands.
Know have a custom dent in bonnet with a funny story.

Ah yep, knew someone would see that. Goes to show how light these soft top tubs are compared to the HT. These are OME mediums outta my old HT, sat rather nice in that. With this thing they barely move on the rear with the 'weight'of the tub. Have taken a few leaves out since then. Well the anti inversion plates do there job .
For reference these are 30x9.5 KM2''s and the guards were oxywelded.
