hey guys just got some oldman emus for my 1ltr and i put em in and the ass end sits rediculessly high i was just wondering if any one has had a bad experiece with any suspension places coz i wanna get the rears flatened abit ...and just abit of advise when dealing with arb dont ask them for sj40 sierra springs coz they will order fj 40 landcruiser springs and then u will have to wait like 4 days for the right ones and i told him every single model number and code for the car and he called back and i told him again and he still ordered landcruiser springs.....or if any one has oldman emu liht duty springs and has taken a leaf out and not had any thing bad happen and it has droped the ride hight let me no witch one it was
drive it around for a week or two and let the springs settle a bit first. it might flatten out a touch. mine rode pretty high when i got my light duty springs in but after a while they settled down a bit.
Also if you have a steel bar, winch and or dual batteries in the front it might make the front sag a little, making the rear appear higher.

i dont have any pics but its just a stock 1ltr no bar or winch or anything and the back sits atleast an inche and a half higher its looks dumb ive had em in for like a week and a half and they are no diferent even have been out 4bin and flexed it up a bunch to tr and get em to go down abit but still nothing

I'm guessing you probably have a soft top. Have you made sure that you did in fact get a complete set of light duty springs? Maybe you got a set of light fronts and heavy duty rears. You could try running some weight in the back like a couple of full jerry cans to settle the springs.

no the shocks are all longer i used the hilux/commo combo..... yeah i have a soft top and yes i made sure that when they figured out that it was a suzuki and not a landcruiser that i got light dutys alround i dunno i guesse they think its an acual ute i think im just gunna go and get some suspenion place to flaten em out to get it level any one got anyplace they would recomend ????
don't go and get a suspension place to flatten them out, that is stupid. You need to work out what is wrong. Take some pics and post them here so people can have a look and maybe give some better ideas. ARB suspension is good and there is usually never any dramas with the springs.
I still think it is either wrong fitment of springs or you may have a cracked chassis, sagged/broken body mounts perhaps or it isn't as bad as you actually think.
Have you been back to them with your concerns and let them have a look and try and sort it out for you?

i do admit that they work well and flex good the shock are kyb and i had to extend my bumpstops to get em to hit the diff and the shock mounts are stock i was gunna triagulate the rears and some stage soon but they still have a good amount of up travel at the moment i havent been back to arb because i dont wanna deal with em again bcause they didnt think my car was very important and never ccalled me back to update me on anything so i willnot deal with them ever again but yeah i dunno its probly not that bad i just think it looks abit silly and if i flaten em abit then i will get a better shackle angel aswell
a good amount of up travel may not be the correct amount of up travel. measure the distance from top of housing to bottom of stop, then measure how much the shock goes up and add about 25mm extra. if the shock does not meet these minimums than the shocker is bottoming out or is holding your arse end up i.e bottomed out already, which is not good and is no fault of the spring. and how close are your bump stops to the diff housing?

I had a 'similar' suspesnion setup for a while.
+40mm Old Man Emu (medium) springs. I hade KYB commo front shocks, and Monroe Hiace rear shocks. I also had 20mm extended shackles all around.
Mine sat at an alright ride height front and rear. If anything the front sat too low, but I have a 35kg steel bar on the front. my rear sat perfect with my fibreglass roof on. with the roof off, it sat too high also. When driving with the roof off, I usually throw an extra spare tyre in the back for weight (strapped to floor). I have found the weight of the extra 31" tyre to be pretty spot on for the medium springs, and vehicle balance.
Some notes on this setup:
You must run 2" bumpstop extensions on the front for the commo shocks. The hiace rears need about 1" extension. The hiace rears will probably hit on the break line brackets on your rear axle housing, and hence dint the shocks, flatten the brackets and re-route brake lines, or move or replace shockies.
I was not totally happy with this setup though it was "good". First thing I canned were the rear shocks, I replaced them with Jeep Cherokee XJ rears. These require 2" rear bumpstop extensions though. They are firmer, but give a nicer ride IMO.
Then I kept inverting the front spring shackles. I eventually had to reset the front springs back to normal shape. Then I inverted both at once, and bent one of the commo shocks as the axle went back.
I made up custom front packs in the front, with about 3" of front lift, this evened out my ride height with the hardtop removed (now sits slightly lower in the back with the roof on). I put monroe commo shocks in the front this time, they are a few mm longer and rounder than the KYB's (and ride nicer too). I removed my front bumpstops, and put in Cherokee rears: these suit my forward axle, and are about 2.75" extended.
Car now sits level (with roof off) and rides pretty well (as long as tyres are at correct pressure).

Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
i have kyb commo shocks lying around and i know how long they are which is why i think they may be the problem. if you take it back your main drama is you are not using the specified correct length shocks so i believe they will wash thier hands of it. were are the commo shocks i.e front or rear, and the hilux shocks?

vs wagon rears in the front and hiace rears in the rear but i fixed my problem i found a concreat block on the side of the road were a parked my car b 4 put it in the back sits good now so hopefully it will flaten em out abit and yeah trust me i would no if the rear shocks were bottoming out at standard ride hight
