Benefits of drop boxes.
Hi all, has any one fitted drop boxes to a GU with 3" lift over standard. I need to address a castor problem as the diff has castor plates left from previous 6" lift (way too much castor). Have been told that boxes are only good for 4" up. Might be able to use the boxes with the plates still welded. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I've got superior's smallest on a 3" lift which has now sagged a bit.
It drives fine. Only castor related issue I have is the tracking. It follows the road quite readily, features rather heavy steering, wants to corner like my GTI but fails miserably (gets a bit darty during corners) and nosedives very easily under hard braking (lucky they dont work very well in a GQ ).
Apart from that its OK. It crashes over bumps though, much like when its too high and the radius arms are pointing downwards to the ground (mine are pointing up at the sky a bit). If i were to space it back up about 3/4 of a inch they'd sit flat again and she'd be sweet!

I am running 3" lift with the small Superior drop boxes. I went the drop boxes to try and return the suspension geometry back to normal after the lift, and avoid the thud of hitting bumps being passed into the cabin with the radius arms pointing skyward.
Worked really well and has an equally smooth ride as from factory, actuall better but the up-rated coils and adj. shock also play a part.
Personally think drop boxes are better than plates or plates if it is your daily driver.
