So how'd did the QLD's go?

Lynda/Barbie and Aaron Go? Broke alot of bits. very unlucky but still very competitive.
Brett/Rolly and Mitch go? unsure
Batrso and Rynao? the boys broke a coilover i believe. and had a small motor issue i think?
Cracka and Brooksy? heard a couple of noises under their rig today but they seemed alrigt
BB and Greg? - they were near us and their rig was hardly in the pit area. so they were obviously doin alright.


When did Twon start drinking?

lady luck took a dump on Megatwon. broke a few things..
packed it in this afternoon. first JD and coke 2 hrs ago.

from what a saw, the blue 100 series was great, not sure how it ended up,

not a bad event (though i thought it was better in previous years ) , the mud event was just plain BORING except for the odd drive . why not do something like mud drags over 100meters ? the sadest part of the weekend was the amount of dead set wa@kers at the mud event on both nights , starting fights (were alot of families were siting with their children) and the idiots doing the usal mud run , i mean c'mon weve all seen it before , but no they just kept on going and than when a security guy grabs the idiot with no pants on the idiot wants to fight the security guy .
and the swearing coming from the drunken hecklers is just over the top , i'm sure there were a few inbred families there one on the green couch , surely they can leave our sport alone and go back home and practice their bango playing else were .

but on a cheerer note , the rigs have come so far since the first tuff truck , and some of the driving was awesome , like the small red bundy did very well considering its size and budget , and twon's cage proved itself over and over again as it was lifted of nearly evertrack , and the vitara what an awesome drive on the "devils marbles" before putting it on its nose at the finish line 10 seconds before being timed out . all in all impressive machines and some very impressive drives .

Chatting to Rick about it, they were aiming for a mud drag style of event. Fast, loud, action packed...

I would like to see them p!ss the mud off altogether next year. Time to change the night event to something else that matches the quality of cars being entered like a man made rock crawling event under lights. Honestly for me it's disappointing to see well engineered vehicles being flogged in stinky slop and getting stuck at the same point over and over.

Other than the mud and the toilet situation, it was a great weekend. The showers were a great inclusion and the overall setup was in improvement. Well done TT organisers on a great weekend.

the was a naked dude running though the crowd and got tackled by the dude sitting in front of us, knocking over an elderly couple and a few kids around there too. It put a damper on the w/e. and this was on the lower side which was mostly families. The dumbass bogan factor was huge thisyear, and i reckon its only going to get worse unfortunately. didnt see any police all w/e.

We had to stop a group of numb-nuts from rolling a HUGE tyre down the hill towards the kids and families. It took ten of them to lift it! If it had hit anyone it would have killed them.

I thought security was better this year but the dickhead factor is still a major concern. It's obvious they're not there for the competition when hundreds of them pack up and leave first thing Sunday morning. And don't get me started on the wankers that just drive around Saturday afternoon doing laps like the sausage-smoker in the ten foot high 40 series with all the sub-woofers and amps exposed on the back.

He tried to ramp it when we were getting a photo shoot with all 4 mogs.
No shit - he got about 10cm up the ramp before he ran out of flex

yes i think the seperation of the 2 sides of the mud run from boozers to families should be better signed and fenced maybe?
i saw one clown standing shirt off ontop of the bin trying to fight anyone. that was on the lower side n sat envening before the start.

and i believe some low life chucked a half fullcan/bottle/rock at my truck when i went back to get my spare tyre after the mud run.

zero tolerance from security would be nice.

but the public too need to help out abit more dob in a yobbo. and please please please.... watch where you are walking etc. its hard to keep focused on the people walking from all angles whilst driving a rig with mud on the windscreen at night time. we all drive slow but its frustrating when the crowd wont step aside etc.

Lots of good stuff, and a few gripes about small pencilled tools who insist on turning up each year. Will post a full report from my vantage point when my eyes return to their sockets.....

I unfortunately work with one of them, not sure if he went this year, as i didn't get there for various reasons. Him and his mates don't own 4WD's and they have no interest in 4WD's or competitions. They just see it as another place to go for the weekend for a piss up.

Already told him what i thought of him and his mates after him trying to "brag" about what they did last year. Truthfully, he just needs his head punched in a few more times, or possibly less so his brain can recover as he comes to work with a black eye a tad to frequently, it confuses me.

The overall event seemed better managed this year but speaking to a few competitors the rules seemed to vary from car to car on both stages and what was allowed on 1 car and what wasn't on another
It seemed that desecions where made on the fly and sometimes not well thought through.

I think they need to bring penalitys if your navi dosen't get out of the car on a event otherwise Pete and Tazz will never lose a point That truck made most of the tracks look like a woolies car park

It was funny to watch some teams as a couple of drivers shouldn't have bothered having a navi as they certainly didn't listen to them

I found that the number of red necks idiots going to arguably our premier 4WD event a little depressing.
An overheard slurred conversation...
"Hey dude howryagoin? Howdya get here?"
"Good mate got my licence back on thursdy so i drove"
"Wicked, I got my licence back last week as well"

And whats the go with some navis holding the bunting out of the way to get better maneuvering? Didn't think you could do that, the officials didn't mind.

But other than the tool factor it was good, seemed to be more numbers this year too.

Funniest comment of the weekend was by to 18/19 years old saying "if he had some mud tyres on his truck he would get up that" when they where watching the Advanti GQ on Jaw breaker around the 80/90point marker

With some better tyres for rock crawling instead of concrete-hard pro comps, he would have done much better.

His driving was very good and his son did a great job as navi in the courses that I saw them on.

Congrats to Peter Antunac and Tarrant Baguley on being the first Tuff Truck ever to complete the weekend collecting 100 points on every stage. Was awesome to watch.

He did very well as usual, I wouldn't be surprised if he did each course whilst whistling, they walked it through.

The kamkaze 80 'big white fridge' suffered a nice blow, wouldn't like to be dressing that wound, Yeouch!

Heard the big fridge crunching noises and heard the usual crowd "yeahhhhhhhhhh.... oohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" meaning it was a good one but didnt get to see it lol anyone got pics ??

my mate got his rock garden roll over with some rapid fire camera work, will try top get them and post them up.

I am waiting to see the break down on the scores accross all tracks. On our 4 tracks before the mud run out we got 100,100,97,80 then in the mud run we had a bearing failure on the pinon on the rear mog diff which put us out of sunday. So to pull a 15 without starting 3 tracks I am pretty happy

You know what, I thought about that on the way home and I reckon it wouldn't do a thing. You'd just have 2000 drunken gate crashers causing havoc next year. Sad to say but I think the alcohol culture is too ingrained into TTC to do anything about it.

We left after the mud Saturday as by the afternoon everyone in camp around us (in the family area at the bottom of the hill) was getting ridiculously rowdy and messy.
