LPG on GQ - How much?

Post by Maverick24 »

Hi Guys,
Can anyone give me an idea of how much it should cost to have LPG fitted to a GQ.
I'm looking around at both Short and Long wheel bases.
I rang a local installer and they tell me that it will cost $3700.00, take the $2000 grant off and I'm still looking at $1700.
That seems a bit steep to me, I was told on the weekend it should only be about $950 after grant.
Thanks
Dave.

Sadly this is par for the course since the grant came in. It has just made LPG installs cost nearly two grand more.
This is not legal advice.

I paid $3000 3 years ago for a shorty gq. It included the custom made fuel tank that is required for the shorty's. Long wheelbase gq's can be cheaper depending on where you want the gas tank. If you don't mind puting it in the cab it is cheaper because you are not buying another fuel tank. If you don't want to sacrifice cabin space and want the gas tank in the normal position (where the fuel tank is) then you have the extra cost of the new fuel tank which goes in front of the rear axle.

go to a wrecker, buy all the stuff, then find a gas fitter / lpg installer, to fit it all for you, out of 2g you should break even or come out infront :D
