Grand Vitara Gearboxs

Post by Highway-Star »

Hi

I have a mate at work with a 2000 model Grand Vitara. Anyway the thing has had a stuffed gearbox for a little while, and he cannot source himself a replacement one (apparantly it is beyond rebuildable, and totally undrivable). He has been quoted $10,000 for a new one :!:

The GV is a 2L 4cylinder (J20a i believe), 5speed manual, LWB.

Question is what geaboxes will fit the vehicle (straight swap, no modding)?
1600 Vitara?
2L V6 Vitara?
2L 4cyl Vitara?
1600 Grand Vitara?
V6 Grand Vitara?
XL7?
Anything else?
