Passing on a comment that was made to me on the Sunday.

"I wonder if the driver they constantly keep referring to as such and such Alphabet is a mate and does not mind them taking the p1ss or if he is takeing offence."

I personally enjoyed the commentary and think you guys bounced of each other well.

Mal Van refers to himself as such and no, he is about as easy going as they come and was in no way, shape or form offended. Damo cant say Ysseldyk, but I can :D

Without reading every single response, so apologises if my comments are already echoed.

I thought you guys did a great job.
But 2 areas of improvement I'd like to see is Tony Price's updates. Unfortunately his voice doesn't throw too well over the P.A system and he is very hard to hear and understand and secondly, the drivers briefings. I know they are often secret mens business but a little bit of feedback often goes a long way to keeping a crowd informed. I did hear what Sundays drivers meeting was about buts that only cause I chatted with a friendly driver.

Once again, great job Rick

I thought the commentry was great. keep up the music between, driver interviews, maybe some more mention on the vehcile sponsors, and a speaker in the pits so we know whose up on what while we are fixing trucks so we know how far behind we are . we were following around the same trucks all weekend so if we knew for example bandaged bear was up we knew we were up next and so on. The navi`s don`t get stuff all mention as it is and it would be good for all drivers etc to say thanks out loud cause without these guys who bust there rears for the teams they wouldn`t be able to do it.

would be good if the mud event was more driveable maybe put some concreate blocks before filling it with water so if one block gets stucks the whole field dosent get stuck in the same spot maybe play some music while the vechile is getting recoverd. maybe also do all the measuring of the trucks at scrutinering or while the other truck is driving the travel ramp instead of measuring one waiting for him to drive it and finish then measure the next one

hi rick, the commentary was fine, a little off topic but a suggestion which i havent seen, maybe it was there but i didnt see it ....for those spectators who havent seen a ttc and are not in the know and dont know competitors or the running order etc or just for those who want to know more about how the comps going a dirty big score board as scores are attained on courses they are posted so everyone can see whos done what, whos broken, whos retired, whos winning etc , for eg i tend to follow the rigs that i like around the courses, your mate in the lil orange pumpkin, john in the fridge, snowy and a new entrant from our club this year cale in his gq, as you know its hard to see everything at once and i didnt know that peter had driven all 100s until sunday morning when you called it , i would have liked to know that so i could have caught some of his drives. as you have a direct line to the ttc gods maybe you could suggest/ implement this for the future i think it would improve the comp
and if it was there and i didnt see it maybe i should drink less beer next year

I though the commently was great. It's a bit stale without a couple wannabe comedians bouncing off each other. Would have liked to know abit more about each of the competing trucks (mods etc).
Those who choose to drive in the mud do so because they can't drive the rocks.

Yes Rick you were GOLD! well your shirt was!

i thought it was petes truck wearing jeans.. oh no its Rick :finger:

the speaker in the pit area would be golden but its probably more a constructive idea for ttc organisers then commentary.

Definately not enough Driver interviews for the spectators.
I can't recall giving any interviews other than prior to running a stage..

I think more drivers should be bailed up whilist transitting between the crowds. ( as long as time permits for the teams )

I'm not sure they had enough people or cameras to interview and get footage of rigs in action at the same time :?

I did notice that most of the driver interviews on Fri night's mud run were not filmed, and the guys filming did nothing for getting the crowd going. That is in stark contrast to past years.

And there were many times that no one was filming at all on Saturday on certain stages.

Hopefully the little cams on the cars will make up for it, but there seemed to be a distinct lack of organisation with the film crew.

Well done guys on the commentry. My only negative comment would be to stop telling the drivers and navi's what to do as much it got a bit annoying and i agree that a fact sheet on the trucks would help to inform the crowd more.

I already have some ideas for this for next year, but not just a simple stroll up to the window and start chatting type of thing...something more structured and professional. We will see if we can make it happen!

I thought the comentary was good and the music in between was also good tho some more driver interviews would be a goer and better notice of what team is driving what stage next :D
Cheers

My thoughts.
Same was true for the drivers photo. Stop the competition for a pic in the middle of things leavin some drivers on course out- What the???
.

that was a drivers meeting/briefing. not a photo champ.
the drivers and organisers didnt want to be there either but it had to be done.
That highlights my point perfectly.
was just passing on what was told to me...
if it had been announced no chinese whispers would exist (actually they probably would - but they may be closer to the truth :D )
Also could have helped vendors as well "there'll b no action for XX min so you've got time to go and get that steak sanger or cruise the vendors lane for cool neat bits for your truck"
If it's already been thought of...
There has to be a better way...
