They did make a factory turbo diesel (pretty sure it was intercooled) 100 series with solid front end. Not sure from when to when only in GXL maybe SAHARA. But I guess they changed over when the they replaced the 4.5L 6 to the 4.7L 8. Try 2000 to 2003-4-5? www.redbook.com.au will give some answers. Your other alternative is a IHZ GXL and go aftermarket turbo
www.cityauction.com.au have a 2002 for sale atm in brisbane. Good Turbo kit supplied and fitted cost around $4000-$6000 those 1HZ get around 200rwhp at 10psi if all good, can go more but need intercooler. That way you don't pay the price premium for a factory version and the turbo set-up is all new and tuned to perfection. Although the Factory Turbo's hold their re-sale well and go well. Either way they make a great tow car just have to watch your GCVM, which I think is less than 80 series at 6760 for a 2000 factory turbo gxl auto
Hope this helps and hope it's right???

I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.
Guys, all t/d 100's were IFS. The very first one was called a gxv remember?? it had thesame bells and whistles as the lexus 470 now has.. Then they made the v8 and it became the gxv. then they made the gxv a lexus with the v8 and the t/d was available in gxl, vx and sahara....all ifs. Anyway....to put a t/d in a 105, you get a 1hz dx or gxl and shoehorn a hdft in it...or the factory turbo motor from a 78/9. You can also put a RFS up front from a dx/gxl 105 with some mods to chassis on a hdj100. You really have to need articulation to go that way thou, because you can buy diff drop boxes for the ifs which allows a 4 inch lift, then with difflocks, it is as good as a rfs...which doesnt articulate tat good up front anyway...
