08 hilux vibrations

Post by BrissieLC75 »

I have fitted a 2inch lift kit front and rear which has raised the hilux by some 3 inches. Driving out of the suspension shop i noticed a vibration when taking off and around 1600 rpm. We installed 2 degree castor wedges which helped the cause immensely, but there is still a slight vibration.

I have noticed the slip joint has increased its standard length by a couple of inches. Could this be causing the vibration.

The hilux has only done 30,000 kms

Id be going to get an alignment done first and make sure that is ok.
could be the front wheels wobbling or mabe the tyres being out of balance.

I dont think it would be tailshaft unless tis been removed and not put back on exactly the same or if you bent it whilst offroading.

Getting the wedges is unnecessary.

I have a full 3 inch lift since day one of me having the hilux with 33's and in 45,000kays have not had any vibrations issues at all....not wedges needed.

Id be going elsewhere and getting a second opnion.
