air compressor leaking

Post by shw337 »

i know this is not a nissan topic, but i didnt know where to post the topic
and this is where i normaly come for advise

i have just finished installing a front airlocker and compressor,
following the wiring diagram ect.

when turning the comprssor on i hear a hissing noise (air escaping the compressor) its coming from the screw in filter/nut on the end of the solinoid (follow the arrow in the pic)

Image

when locker is activated, the hissing stops.

is this normal or is there something wrong??

mate from what i remember there should be no ari coming from the exhaust port until you switch the locker off,

you might find the solenoid is a little sticky so switching it on and off a few times might fix it up,

if its brand new take it back,

Hey, just another thing I've found with the ARB compressors, mine started leaking once, and I found the 13mm bolt that holds the tank on had worked loose. It pays to keep an eye on that also.

Cheers
