Which electric fuel pump for diesels?

Hey guys!

My fuel filter primer pump on my TD42 shat itself on the weekend and is sucking air big time.

I want to ditch the primer pump all together and run 2 CAV filters and a electrical lift pump instead.

I need to get this sorted before the weekend so I need to find out which pump you guys recommend (Holley, Carter etc.) and where I can get it ASAP and how much to pay for it.

best one ive had recommended is a holley red.
around 200 bucks or a little more, my mechanic got it in for 190 but retail everywhere was a bit dearer.
supplies 7PSI, the holley blue supplies 14, the lower pressure one is the one you want.
if it dies it will still flow fuel.

I run a petrol elec. fuel pump with internal pressure relief. Cant remember what the pressure is set to.
Works great and primes the system in next to no time, even just sitting there turning the key to turn the engine over will bleed the system in about 10sec.
Cant remember what brand, but it was only about the hundred mark about 4 years ago. In 4 years hasn't let me down, nor have I have any fuel problems. And thats drowning the bloody thing in water and mud countless times.
I also have a tee piece in the fuel line with one of the outlets blocked off with a small bolt. With the ignition turned on, this allows me to strip either of my fuel takes to get rid of any contaminations. Has got me out of the shite a few times in the past in remote areas (And also allows me to, with a length of hose) allow me to give fuel to those who need it.

Seems that any low pressure pump will do.
I have been told to stick with facet, holley or carter.

Is there much noticable noise from the pump?
I will obviously fit it close to the tank.

Only 10psi, and when sufficient flow is drawn through (from the IP) it sort of bypasses, also good if the pump fails as their is no restriction in the line.

i'd use a carter 4070. 7psi 70gph.

unlike the holley pump, you wont have leakage issues with the carter.

you should be able to get them for around $180-$190

i run a holly red and have no issues with it leaking
couldnt say a bad word about them but its really up to you..
holly red and blues are at any american auto spares.

I have burnt out two facet pumps in a landrover discovery 300 tdi. It appears they don't cope with the limited flow and high restriction, gone back to mechanical pump now - no problems since.........both were replaced under warranty though.
