Hi Guys, just want to get some leaf springs reset in the local area on the cheap. heard allset have moved away so any reccomendations? they're almost at the stage where i could flip them over for extra lift

give bob at allset a buzz you can freight them on time express up and down overnight. i see heaps of springs at time depot for him as i pick my parts up there as well.
only the first roll hurts, then its a ride..
Check they arent allowing to remove & refit the leaf springs to the vehicle.
Cant rememer what i spent, wasnt anything near that though...
If your leaves are flogged out & have no lift, then I would look at new ones anyway. A reset will probably only sag again after time.
I only had one leaf pack reset about 10mm, to get rid of a bad lean in the vehicle. (they were new ome leaves)

yup ripoff if as said it does not include removal/ refit.. you can buy new spring packs for not much more than that..fat496 wrote:thanks Dee, just gave em a call. $440 to reset 2 rear leaves. does that sound dear to anyone else??? i thought this was supposed to be the cheap way out? might as well buy new ones if that's the case.

If your keen, reset them yourself. I Did it with Suzuki springs, though anything else may be very hard going due to the heavy springs. I slowly fed the springs (one leaf at a time) over a piece of railway line (heavy duty C channel is fine), as another person hit them in the centre with a sledge hammer (so the springs bend down into the C section as such).
This process slowly ressets the springs. I wouldnt do it too many times as it will probably work harden the spring, but as I said I rest some old srings (for the front of my Sierra). Gave them about 3" extra lift (passenger side), and about 4" (drivers side). this gave my car an even front lift of about 2". They work great.

Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
I used a bench press. The diameter of the press ram was 50mm, so I marked all my at 50mm intervals.
Then went the slow process of pumping till i hit the spring, then i did 6 pumps. Then after going from 1 end to another, it wasnt enough compared to another spring that was okish. so i started at the other end of the spring and went inbetween those 50mm intervals.
Yours will be different. Its all the mystery of trial and error also.
This is my way. Has been tested and trialed. Im resetting some others now due to a snapped spring. (I just set the location pin up wrong, Too close to an perch edge)
