From your 'flex shots' you can certainly see how the mighty feroza could benefit from a locker or two :P (even a stiff LSD would help LOL)

I'm gonna have to sell mine soon, and I'm not looking forward to it. Such an awesome car.

A feroza is a real car... and a damn good one at that. Its only let down by manufacturers that refuse to make parts for them.

I just bought a nissan patrol, and as capable as it may be.. the feroza is heaps more fun. :armsup:

I used to live in Sydney (moving back in a few months actually) and that track looks strangely familiar.

Nah i didnt drill through. Would be easier but the thread on the bottom of the spotties wasnt long enough.

All i did was get some 5mm steel (two peices per spottie one longer than the other) and sandwich the rack in between two peices. Then the spottie was mounted to the longer bit that acted like a tab.

if i remember i will take a picture and post it up.

cheers for that mate, just one more question have you got any traction devices such as diff locks on the car or does it go well enough without them, and did you notice much of a difference with the mud terrains cause i have a feroza too, but with all terrains and im looking at getting a set of mud terrains, cheers

Nope no traction devices but not from lack of trying! They just dont exist. If your lucky you MAY find a LSD rear from some illusive models but good luck and other than that the only other option would be to weld the front diff but with my heavy foot i didnt want to do that.

I went from the standard size radial road tyres (something like 26") straight to the 31" mud terrains and never looked back! I dont do much sanding so the muddies suit me just fine. They work good on the rocks as well so far so no complaints.

As long as you pick a good line and arnt too affraid to give it some the fez will do you fine. Its not so good with the slow and steady rock climbs just due to the fact you lift a wheel pretty easy with 31's but so far i have been able to keep up on a fair share of big stuff.

cheers for that mate, yer i didnt think there were many traction devices for the ferozas which is a shame but ohwell, i was thinking of getting 32's but i still have to gve it a body lift so they dont rub. do you head up to the watagans much?, ive never been and they look like some awesome tracks haha

Minor hyjack but there are rear locks for the Feroza made by K&S Tuning in Germany.

Sure they are expensive but then again your not driving a common vehicle so what do you expect ?

ok yes thank you MM, i forgot that you can get them but im pretty sure it wouldnt be worth it.

cheaper to do a hilux rear with air locker!

dont head to watto's much atm as im studying my Chartered Accountants whihc takes up about 110% of my time but it is good up there IF you know where the tracks are. There are alot of bike tracks and simple fire trails that are a bit of a waste of time but there are some gems hidden amounst them!

K&S tuning from germany - yes, but you must send them your diff and they upgrade it for 890 EUR (1550 AUD/1220USD).

Actually the cost isn't that bad considering the rarity of the vehicle.... its the transport of the centre backwards and forwards that kills things especially for Australia IMO.

An ARB Hilux airlocker really isn't that much cheaper really but if you go down the lux path your going to end up with a rear axle thats virtually indestructable in a Feroza ( especially with the standard three squirrels provinding the power :rofl: )

At one stage they were telling me they could do a front locker :D but it turned out to be a communication problem. Their English wasn't quite up to the task and my German is non existant so wire got crossed.

In europe, there isn't a much of old hilux and the price for allmoust destroyed hilux year 1993 is 5500 EUR, a good feroza the same year is 1600 EUR, excellent feroza year 1996 with air conditioner is 3600EUR.

Over here its the other way around... Toyota stuff is quite cheap and very common, Hatsu's are harder to get hold of in any model.

I supose there's a logic to it, the Toyota's tend to be larger vehicles much more suited to longer distances and the sort of terain we have, whereas the Feroza etc perhaps suits the Japanese and Euro market.
