Oil Retainer

Post by macorti »

G Day,

Do you guys know if there's a way or method that prevents water to be getting into the transfer case, shift case and difs? (From a 1990 shorty TD42)

I know that a normal retainer is build to not let the oil out, but I don't know if there is some oil retainer that can be capable to stop water getting in.

Cheers

Its the only thing you can do. You can buy kits on ebay.

the gearbox is fairly well sealed provided the top boot on your gear levers is ok and the hoses are in good shape so you can submerge them.
