Wanting to put aircon into an fj45

Post by Ausi fj »

Hi all, I am wanting to fit aircon into an fj45 ute. I DON'T want to buy the old under dash unit. I am hoping to fit one from out of a doner car at the wreckers. I am thinking of pulling out the current heater unit from under the dash and putting in a complete heater/aircon from something else. Obviously it wont look original but this fj ute is total custom and it will be hidden behind a console. Has anyone done this before or got any ideas on what might fit.
Thanks

there is factory air that does not install under the dash.

the evaporator is in the pipe that goes from the heaterbox to the passenger side.

you can make another pipe up custom aswell if you find a evaporator that is small enough
