bellhousings mods

Post by 85sclux »

i have just got a au ticford v8 i was hoping to put it in my hilux but no one does a tranfer adapter

i was wondering what peoples thoughts are or if any one had put one in a hilux

1 thing i was thinking of was to combine the ford and hilux bell housings buy chopping the bottom of both bellhousing and then get the hilux one welded to the ford housing

or some how making an adapter to bolt the hilux gearbox up to the motor any ideas or thoughts would be great

I SERIOUSLY doubt that the Hilux transmission or transfer case would hold up to the torque of the TicKford. Look at the transmission that comes with the engine and a divorced transfer case (MQ, Atlas, some of the NP series, etc)

an AU v8 should still be the normal Windsor bellhousing, therefore you can use a C4 tranny, which there are adaptors for.
and that way you aren't trying to adapt the electronic box
