Oil Pressure

Post by PJ.zook »

What oil pressure should a normal 4cyl engine be running at when warm at idle? My G16B drops and hovers at around 5psi when its at operating temperature which is almost unreadable on oil pressure gauge, but its not enough to cause the oil pressure light to come on, but when revved the pressure comes up again. This is way too low am i right?

my G16B is runs around 9psi at idel

as a rule of thumb 10psi for every 1000 rpm. so at 3000rpm it should be around 30psi. i find my engine drip a little bit below this when i hit the throttle
