hi guys, just put a 2in lift kit under the Nj looks great but now tyres look to small have 15inch on her does anyone know if 16in will go on the standard rims or if i can upgrade rims and what ones i should get thank you

Yes you will need new rims if you are going to 16 inch, you may be better off getting bigger tyres in 15 inch, such as 32x11.5x15 that will go on you original rims.

i agree you would be better of going for a larger tyre in the 15in rim sizs, i think the standard wheel is about 15x8 and i've fitted 35x12.50x15 onto my pajeros and have not had any problems at all other than having to make a few mods ie. body and suspension lift but prior to these i had 33x12.50x15s and did not have to lift the body and they only rubbed slightly on full lock although it would depend on what tyre you had fitted but i was using the kumo mt's at the time and am now using mastercraft coursers

I believe that, under Australian regulations, 8.5" is the minimum acceptable rim width for a 12.5" wide tyre. My 285/75-16s work out (nominally) to about 11.2" x 32.8", and require a minimum rim width of 7.5"

i run my 38s on 15x7 and they work well, they seem to hold the bead better when aired down to lower presures.

There's an industry bible with approved fitments - if the combination isn't in the bible it's considered unroadworthy. in the uk we dont seem to have such problems with getting tyres fitted at my local tyre fitter which is part of a chain but i wont name it !! the guys there just sort of shake their head a little and fit them for me, but you said you have 38's fitted to a 15x7 rim, What width tyre are these are they 12.50's as i have a spare set of aftermarket alloy wheels in much better condition than my stock rims and wouldnt mind swaping the tyres over if you've had no problems, but dont want to pay for a change over to find out it's not a good idea
