Front diff pinion bearings - Pajero gen1

Post by PIGGY_PAJERO »

Hey guys and gals.

After what i thought was my front diff exploding due to previous owner not caring about oiling, i pulled it apart yeaterday and was glad to find its only the pinion bearings are completly stuffed, but luckily didnt damage the gearing.

problem is though, the front bearing is only about $15 and available, but the rear bearing is some stupid special type apparently, costing around $110, and unavailable anyway.

Does anyone know of an alternate bearing set? As in something out of something else will fit? I'm on a pretty limited budget at the moment, but really wanna fix it.

Thanks in advance.

They told me the same for the CV's needle bearing and they asked the same price for the damn thing. I found it from an IKO importer and it's the original that is used in pajero. So, search a bit further.... There is no way, i believe, for a car company to order a special bearing for a car model -doesn't make sense. They just pick a bearing from those alredy exist, with the specs they want. Look the brand on the sides of the bearing and check if it's a metric or inch bearing. That's important.
