So whats your excuse for not driving this time???

Hmmm how much road driving is on this run Ben? My rigs still registered its just not quite roadworthy at the moment. It needs a couple of Blue Tag Codes added
sniff, sniff.....Is that a challenge I smell??
You're on, Tony. I don't care if we finish 2nd last now. So long as you're last!!!!
BRING IT, BIATCH!!!

So its not exiting this area again after this?
HUH?
I know it did not make sense to me either but I replied with what I thought he said.
basketcase wrote:Its not the most extreme night run but gets harder as it goes along. There is a couple of decent climbs and rock ledges. Not 100% sure on how Ben is working it all though.
Sooo, should we take the winch challenge, twin locked Zook ute, or the bling-bling front-locked GU Nissan ute?

Sorry maybe i need to make it more simple for you guys.
I need to know if the road driving from the start area to the area where the run is held will be the only road driving on the night?
I dont want to go there and find we are constantly on and off road all night. If this is the case i wont bother comming.

Ben is doing alot of it in his terrano with a rear locker. He has me to do the bits he can't do and then there is some stuff I can't do. But thats not saying much (i am not the most experienced 4wder). But I just have a bit more clearence and front locker.
I am not going to let out to much more though. Not my run to fuck up and tell everybody about.

basketcase wrote:95% of the road driving is at the start and then I think you nip on the the road again for 100m somewhere through the run. Thats how it is right now.
Ben wants you guys to come some he is keeping the road driving down.
I have heard he is trying to set this run out so EVEN THE MOGROVER CANT DRIVE IT. Well thats easy. Even an easy run the mogrover wont drive it because it was not built for night runs. It prob will never attend one.
A little tip. If you make the run so hard that you expect that the Big rigs cant drive it you will disapoint a lot of people that attend this run.
People dont attend the regular Logan runs and expect to winch all night. We have 1 night run a year that you need to expect this and that is in November. This is how its allways been.
My rig is the only rig out of the ones i beleive he is refering to that is even close to being road legal. And will prob be the only one that will ever attend Logan night runs.
Sorry Tony, I was only taking the piss, mate.
Fair enough concern, but. I must admit, we're a little concerned about the blue-light taxi's ourselves. Let's face it, a Zook with Bundera diffs and 32" Centipedes isn't exactly gonna be looked well upon by our friends in blue, is it? And yours would be worse again.....

Im sorry if it sounds like im raining on the party here. Im not trying to. Its just my thoughts.
It is great to see new people joining our club and even better to see people keen to get in and give a hand. I know i havent done much in the past year or so since my rig has been down. I hope to have it fully legal(except tyres) within the next month or so and i should be right back into the monthly night runs.
This is a great club and has some realy great people involved with it and the more members the better we can get.

i am interested in goin. i been on a few of your runs before, but how hard it is depends on who runs it. It will be wet no doubt! I run twin arbs with 35 inch claws on a gq, would we get around all right? Havn't done a logan one for a few years (been busy)Joining wouldnt be a problem as i think it is a good idea, plus the missus used to be in it many years ago.
Thanks in advance

Okies
The run itself has two areas, one area really close to the start and the general meeting place at the BP. Ruff, you can start right on the start of the tracks, so no road driving what so ever, this does apply to others who are in the same category as well.
Marshy the choice of vehicles is yours, either will work and neith have any major advantage, though having a winch might help, after you launch yourself and get stuck in a tree.
Red rover i think you'd go fine with that, mind you it should challange you enough so that you will modify your fourbie again afterwards
To clarify something for others, I started with an aim so that all fourbies could drive it without being majorly modified with a hard area so if people didn't want to drive it they could watch others who do have the confidence to do so.
The outlaw vehicles I have only seen in action on videos and I would like to see something like that being driven, if it don't happen, it don't happen. If I get 15 patrols that are running big tyres etc etc then I'll be happy, just as much as I'll be happy to get another Nissan Terrano driving it as well.

Also on the run itself, the hard section isn't so extreme it can't be driven, everything can be driven, its just the application of the tools you have at the time. Its not a Logan challange in any shape. Its a decent run, which require people to air tyres down, pick their lines and take it easy, those who think they can rip through the course are in for new hood ornaments aka trees, rocks and other hard rather immovable objects.
Ruff, your comments were noted and it was not directly aimed at you, when the run was being set up the rules were fairly open, the liability insurance issue, that changed slightly. I did not expect to to see the mogrover but I know of its capabilities and I wanted something on the hard area that would make it interesting for people who have done it "hardcore" before.
It may be that the run might be too easy for some people as well, but hey its my first time organising it so 'I don't know what to expect untill the night. I also require people to turn up to drive it.
The rain is going to make it interesting as it changes driver and navvie conditions.
I hope this helps...
