Fixing front end troubles
Ok some of you guys would have seen what was happening with my front end on sat night , after the torque rod was ripped off the front , my spring packs not begin clamped, were opening up way to much creating to much axle wrap and dropping the shaft. (see attached pics).
What would the best thing to do, id like to leave the torque rod off , if i do this, i will get my front spring packs re drilled and also get spring clamps put on, will this reduce the axle wrap enough to stop it happening again.
or do i build a beefier torque rod and mount it futher foward where the dropped spring hanger is, to control the axle wrap whilst leaving the spring packs open to allow more flex.
I hope this makes sense as it way to early on a monday to be thinking.

here is the pics of one of the causes of the trouble.
it seems that the upper joint on the torque rod has siezed, so when teh vechile was flexing all the movment was begin transfered into the mount and the shity toyota welds, so basically it ripped the mount clean out of the chassis rail right on the weld.

With crossover steering, you have no need for the torque rod as you will not experience any bump steer. The longer slip front shaft is an eventual necessity anyway.

indeed, im not chasing huge flex, im going to try beefing the spring packs and getting some new clamps fitted, and ill give that a test run to see how it goes, if i have to run a torque rod again i will, but prefer not to.
bump steer is not a real issue as its a trail only rig and only driven to the trails and home again

If you abandon the torque rod but retain push pull steering, there is a higher chance of breaking the already vulnerable drivers side steering arm.
