bit of a weird question but my engine oil smells like exhaust/carbon sort of thing.
i think it might be normal as the engine oil needs to catch all the soot/carbon

91 SWB Sierra. 16v 1.6efi, extractors, 6.1gears, SPOA, 32 BF muddys and 2inch bodylift
smell engine oil then smell transmision oil then smell atf and you'll know the difference between them. Go by feel aswell, old oil should have some black in it, otherwise it's not doing it's job, but alot of grit in there is not a good sign.
