TD42 slow to drop revs
TD42 slow to drop revs
When my engine reaches about 2000+ revs it's really slow to drop down when I decellerate.
I have tryed free reving it from the fuel pump under the bonnet and the lever seems to be returning ok it's just dosen't seem to be dropping revs quick.
apparently the fuel pump was reco'd not long ago so I'm hoping it's nothing to major.
anyone got any idea's??

take the accelerator cable off the pump end and free rev it to see how quik it returns to idle. my td42t did this and i replaced the acc cable for about $25 fron nissan. my cable was full off mud somehow.
only the first roll hurts, then its a ride..
If your fuel pump is maxed out, the governor spring struggles to return to 0 fuel ( foot off the pedal ) due to the amount of fuel being pumped against it.
Do some pump mods and then you wouldn't have this problem, ( with the same Air fuel settings ) obviously the same thing can occur if you max it out again with a larger plunger.

dunno, could it be the air conditioning idle step up? I just upped my fuel delivery after fitting a turbo and IC and found that the step up was holding the idle up. Just my 2c worth
Burra Boy. 1x 89 LWB wagon, turbo, frozenboost IC, lots of stuff. 1X 90 leafie ute, AXT turbo, tough as nails and about as comfie...
