Depends what model it is if it is a Gen 1 it will have 4.88s in both petrol and diesels.
If its a Gen 2 it should have 4.3 in a deisel and 4.88 in a petrol but the deisel could also have 4.5s.

Tonka '83 was the change over year so it still could have 4.3 or 4.5 as well as 4.88. Is it from a Gen 1 or a Gen 2?

You dont need to pull them apart to check the ratios
Just turn the pinion around and count.
4.8 times around to 1 revolution of the axles means its a .....??.... ratio :D
Keep it simple

Well, I now have 1 4.88 diff from 2 car that coats me $120

And I now have a set of hilux axels hub to hub with 4.88 ratios that coast me $200 for the lot.

I like bargains!
