A/C - Heater Fan Problem

Post by Wazelephant »

I am having some problems with my AC/Heater Fan in my 61 Series Cruiser.

At I drive around with it switched on, it does not work...until I hit the occasional rough bit of road or railway track, and it will jump back into action again. Once it has started working again, it quickly fades out and stops. It does not seem to be influenced by fan settings ie whether the fan is on high or low.

It is a great old truck, and I know the AC works a treat. I just need to get this fan going again.

I have checked the fuses. All good there.

Any ideas where I should start looking??

Thanks for your help.

Mark.

does it happen at all fan speeds or just some? it could be a broken resistor coil, they live in the air ducting just downstream from the fan, look for a plug with 3 or 4 wires, most of which will probably be blue.
