A tyre and rim question regarding 85mdl 4 runner. HELP

Post by tuffv8s »

ok
we lost everything in the kinglake fires, my mate donated us an old 4runner, for fun and for carting stuff around, my brother donated the tyres and rims,

they are
15"x10.5" off his 07 hilux sr5, with huge mickey thompson tyres, only problem is they hit the front tie rod steering joint.
i tried 6mm shims but its still only just touching any thicker and il have no stud left.

i really am in a flush as i cant really afford new tyres and rims, these are probably worth 1500-2000.

is there any way? spacers(i know there not legal).

Can you knock the studs out and replace them with longer ones, then add a widder shim.

Cheers

rims

i would say at a guess the 4runner you have has the solid front axle where as the rims you got come off a lux with ifs so the off set is wrong spacers will fix the problem but it might be cheeper to just get another set of steel wheels and put the tyres on them
Rims flipped from $50
