After wheeling quite alot recently with many coil sprung trucks, i am managing to cross axle myself because of less suspension travel compared to these trucks!
So basically, i know that shocks are limiting my travel at the moment (i have removed spring bolts, taken leaves out of std spring pack with millitary hangers(SWB 88) ...etc but still have standard shocks!)
Has anyone changed all there mounts before to fit longer shocks and get more travel out of there leaves
What type of shocks did u use
I understand that this Q is a longshot but i may aswell ask for ideas sake??

i was about to fit gq rear to my ex army . i was only going to move top mount. they have about 10" travel.
they looked easy enough to fit to the rear, not sure about the front??
but the guys from nauru had the cash!!!
have a look at the site "gon2far", just google search.
i allways wondered about using longer flatter springs and slinging the axles under them.
some of the toy lux guys use orbit eyes and drop/swivel shackles.

I have done most of this before - the shocks WILL be severely limiting your travel. You need to move the top mounts up. I run RR rear shocks on the rear and military LR front shocks on the front (reco'd). But you could go longer - just buy some long shocks, make new top mounts, and mount them so the shocks almost bottom out on full bump stop compression - that way you will have full extension.
I have 16.5" of front and 16.5" of rear WHEEL travel (hub-hub) measured with 1" offset wheels (over std).

The longer shocks will help a lot, but after that the most productive thing you can do is fit longer shackles all the way around, and make sure that they are mounted at the proper (45*) angle. The stock Series front springs are limited on compression by the spring bottoming out on the frame at the shackle- a longer shackle allows the spring to move in a larger arc, and thus more travel.
On my 88", I was able to achieve better flex than most modified Range Rovers with 2 leaf parabolics all the way around, no shocks, and longer shackles. My truck does have rear extended shackles, but i think the front are stock, but i dont really know??
Anyone got original shackle mesurements??
My front shackle sits at about 45* and the rear at about 30*
I am in the process of working out how to put nissan mq diffs in the rover (approx 2'' wider) and some more offset rims which should help with width

dave, i used to run reversed disco rims with q78 swampers on my s111.
gave me a nice wide stance and kept standard turning circle.
could be a cheaped option than mq diffs.
tjhe swampers stuck out about 3" and were covered by def. flares.
looked very good. wish i could post pics.!!
i have seen early cruiser diffs under lr's.
not sure if there was a drivers side located pumpkin though??

The mq diffs are an option as they are heaps stronger than lr diffs and they are a supposedly easy swap from what i can see (need new spring pearches, redril to suit rear tailshaft)
Rims in bigger offset then lr are easy to find and are cheap!
I eventually want to convert to slinkys with modded lr diffs witg toy centres, but as i have just started uni and only have a casual job, money is not as easy to come buy and this is a chreaper option to gain strength
