I'm in the process of rebuilding a 1.6 (big block) for my Zook.
I don't know if its out of a Vitara or a Swift but the shape of the sump is VERY close to Sierra so my guess would be Vitara.
It's a 16V bottom end that I'll put a 1.3 head and (1.6)TBI on.
Question is: How do I tell if it's a 92-95 or a 96-98 model engine?

Ring your friendly Suzuki parts department with the engine number off the block and they should be able to tell you what its out of, down to the number plate and what colour the trim was.
