I have 2" springs and extended shackles on my Hilux with 35's and it rubs a but, so I would say you'd be right with springs and shackles.

I needed my tailshaft extended.

Just a guess would e you would want 4.5's with 33's but it you will go bigger in the future go 4.88's

Ive got 2" springs in a 96 dual cab and cut 40mm out of rear of front guards, run 33s with no issues.

If the springs are any good and you have the right shock length even with 2" shackles they will still touch the guards....

No you won't be able to go 2" spring lift and extended shackles and only use a tailshaft spacer... you Will need to have the front shaft extended... Although you may get away with just a spacer with just a spring lift
Your rear shaft should be fine...

Wouldn't a 2.4 N/A diesel have 4.88's already?
I'd check that though as all the 2.4diesel diffs i have bought have had 4.88's..

My fathers 2.4 Diesel lux (not 4runner, but thought would be same?) had 4.5 diffs.

I run pretty much what you're talking about. 2" lift and 33's. If you don't space the front diff forward you will scrub the back of the front inner guards when turning on compression. I'm attempting to solve this by grinding out the offending lip and having the inner guard smoothed out.

I run 4.55 diffs but have had motor performance improved with diesel gas. That being said it is still slow and lacks a bit of power but get's the job done. I'd go to 4.88's and it should make it way better to drive.

hope that helps :)
