So are you putting the Hilux IFS into a Vit? ( http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=318480 )

As opposed to the narrow track with rigid front? (ie: SASing it)
or a WT rear with NT front with a so called hub spacer WT conversion? (Still SASing it)

yes a wide track rear housing and still will be solid front end with a wide track kit and ifs hubs

i don't want a hilux 2 start with and its my choice , gearing I'm putting reduction gears in dunno how much of a reduction tho.

hey rick yeah looks like a sweet kit 2 get has most of the stuff i would need , wait and c how i go but yeah it is another idea to think about thanx for all ur help . what ratio gears do use run in ur vit in the transfer ??? seeing as tho use run 36" tyres from memory

you realise you'll have to drive around in low range everywhere if you want 35-37 inch tires on it with just reduction gears

Preecy, it runs Calmini reduction gears on 35"s, but as Antt has pointed out, its only really good for low range, but having said that it would be the same with a HiLux anyway wouldn't it.

preeecy why not spell out exactly what your plans are, what you want to achieve etc so people can offer useful info rather than just adding little bits of info to the breadcrumbs of info you are supplying.

will be driven on the road to go 4wding so a hour tops on road and mainly going to be doing comps money willing to spend 6K on the diff conversion will be running 35's maybe step up 2 a 37's later on

You said it won't be a daily, but you'll be driving it for an hour on the road to go 4wdriving, which will suck with only reduction gears.

I had dual transfers in mine with a vitara and sierra case, so had high range reduction, and it was pretty average to drive in high range, so yours would be even worse.

I'm not putting a downer on your idea, but if you're going to do the SAS, you may as well do it right. I'd be PM'ing 'joeblow' on here and asking about the dual transfers he does using a vitara and sierra case, they look like a good thing.

PS- you'll spend 6 grand pretty quickly doing this swap, i'd budget up to around 10
