just want to know which would be the better option for a 2.8d hilux.

depends how much of the work you can do yourself.

turbo or supercharge will cost around $2500 for a drive in drive out job, if you can do it yourself a supercharger will be cheaper and if i were to do it again i would go a supercharger.

i will be doin most of the work myself so price difference isnt much of an issue

I sold a dead 2L-TE to a dude who took all the turbo bits off and bolted them straight up to the 2.8. I sold him the motor for $400 and he didn't need to buy anything else for the conversion !

Put a turbo from a import surf onto my old 2.8 lux all up it cost me $1600 including a new 2.5inch mendrel exhaust system. Big improvement, worth every cent.
