here is the underside of a rocker cover on my 1hdt. the rear is at the top of the pic. the metal is the factory baffle which has 2 flaps that can be bent open/closed.
Ok nest Q what would be the effect of cutting the hump off and welding a flat plate, I noticed on DJ Hanson's 1HDFT the breather does not enter at the hump either like I think the 1HZ and 1HDT does but could be wrong

pretty sure mine is (1HD-T) looks like ally when its fitted, but it si way too light and flexy when off. I'll be surprised to find its ally.
1hz and hdt are plastic, hdft are tough motors, even the rocker is alloy
You could cut the hump out if you like,,,the pipe comes internally from the hump to the front of the cover b4 coming out....u could simply make the outlet up there and put a oil trap external draining back to sump via turbo return

Bugger I had the idea of cutting mine out of my FTE and moving to the back like the T and FT. Oh well suppose I can put the welder away and dig out the fibreglass resin.

Gday Fester
isnt the black thing a cover ontop of the alloy??

Yee har. When it was stated it was fibreglass I assumed we were talking about the actual rocker cover not the stupid rocker cover cover. I've not delved past the rocker cover cover yet but if the rocker cover is alloy then it might still be an option to cut and shut. I want the hump to remain but it might suit better to have it at the back like the FT's to get a better path for the intercooler.
What is the rocker cover cover for anyway. Does it supress noise or does it hide some ugly stuff.
