Sorry Ant ...don't know how to use this thing properly, but I can think of one or two possibilities for your navi job...will make some enquiries for you...also in the Pajero Club.

oh so tempting - if only I had 6 weeks annual leave a year so I could do this and have enough time to cover child minding over school holidays as well...

It's so weird being totally out of it now! and I must admit reading the posts makes me wish we were back again....it's also disappointing not to see any womens names on the list.

Have the best time u all and special Good Luck to the Sydney boys Laurie, Max, Michael, Nick....everyone.....

Why don't you come up as spectators,Celia & Eugene?

BTW that list you posted is incomplete.....a couple of weeks ago there were 28 entrants on Paul & Sharyn's list sent out to us.

good o.....about there being more....would be good to see the full list. Terence mentioned a truck entering from Joburg Safrica too?.....have they made it?. What about Jeneane...she said she was returning...and I notice there's other Venezualans entered. Good to see u back awa some of the originals. (I won't say oldies ;) )

Regards coming to spectate....that I don't think I could ever handle....I'd want to be there having a go.
Apart from the fact that E is so busy, we just can't spare the time.

Instead I'm also thrilled to be part of the "Drive4Life" Charity Toyota Wheelie Trip 30th May to 14th June as a designated driver. Thanks to Toyota (12 4x4 vehicles) & expenses +IGA (food) this trip has been put together by Norm Needham / Drive4Life to take 10 Northcott Wheel chair members into the Outback for 2 weeks and give them an experience of a life time.
So we might not be able to compete anymore, but at least we can enjoy an out....& give back instead.

All the best & good Luck....make sure all 4 wheels stay on track!!!

Dave and I would love to be back there this year but unfortunately time and money just wouldn't stretch 2 years in a row.... may be in a couple of years time...who knows. Gary Smith is up for another go (along with the James, the owner of the Rangie he attempted to destroy in 08!). Not sure about Neil as he pretty much said 'never again' after last year. Mind you, saw him a couple weeks ago and he was muttering wistfully about camping, sunshine and the red Australian sand.....

;)

Good luck to everyone taking part this year. Shame it is only 7 days comp this year rather than 8 but hope the new format works well.

that's real sad, if it's true, but in these uncertain economic times not surprizing. Being an optomist, maybe some other sponsors will step forward, afterall it was the original and quite unique, attracting overseas competitors from all over the world over the years also.

No Pins being pulled. I just had a chat with Paul and they are looking forward to a bright future with a new format. Events need to change, especially after 10 years, to keep the regulars coming back. Sponsors also come and go. 10 years with Warn and ARB is a terrific achievement and they should be thanked for their contributions. Now there is room for a few new sponsors and that will be a good thing.

Well said Hobzee the situation with the sponsorship has probably been known for a long time it's just that Paul has just let us know about it. The Lux went to Sean's today to get OBC ready, diffs out for check, new C/Vs, nuts and bolts tightened and I will be running the new STAUN rims. I'm starting to get excited especially being involed in the new format. I think it will be a winner.

Yes Hobzee, not new about Warn and ARB as it had been doing the rounds for some time. But as you say new sponsors, new format, new competitors etc speaks well for future years. SA people need both events in Broken Hill as it close for us to get to. Not competing this year, going overseas shortly and the Rangie needs a re-birth - now don't say anything. Good luck to all and especially to all the Rangies.

Having withdrawal pangs Mal !

There are always last minute rushes arranging spares etc. and dashing back to Ontrack for littte things who are on the other side of Melb. for me.

Basically the new/old truck is going well so hoping for a better year this time.

Cheers,
Alan.

Yes, Good luck everyone, I am certainly jealous and think the new format will be great, Unfortunately I wont make it this year, work commitments have meant my truck won't be ready...........and another thing, to the other competitors, Laurie's Bushrangie has not been fitted with a siren, it will just be Mani howling and yelling with fear and excitement so don't be alarmed...............enjoy the event for what it is, a great week away to forget about the stress and worries at work and let your hair down and have some damn good fun.

Good luck to all going up the Broken Hll this year, unfortunately the Swiss built Defender driven by Marc Spring with me navigating won't be able to make it this year, sorry to say we are a late withdrawal.
We are both disappointed, as the new event format looks fantastic, it was great to get the stage notes already so we know what we are in for, I was really looking forward to the Peg board stage and the stage between Denian and Viewmont.
Hopefully we will be there next year...
