extended shackles on hilux
gday. this question probably been asked heaps but i dont know how to search properly. If i put extended shackles on solid axle front leaves will this bugger up steering at all and should i use castor wedges and if so how many degrees. I am looking at using 2'' extended shackles and it is for an 82 dualcab if that makes any difference. Also will I achieve full 2'' lift in front by doing this. Hope this makes sense thanks
it will be fine, but your stock shocks will limit the benfit. ideally get a set of longer shocks, as even std suspension can reach std shocks limits.
if your shackle angle is verticle which it will be close to with std springs then the lift will be 2 inchs, if the angle is 45 degrees which is ideally what your after if flex is the goal then it willonly lift it 1 inch.

With extended shackles in mine with 2" in springs it got about 3" in lift.
I have a 2° and a 3° wedge in making 5° and it handled real good......for a hilux anyway
I also needed my tailshaft lengthened.
