Post by outback_pootrol »

i have a 79 2litre lux and want some injection without mass dollars, is there a head that will bolt straight on the block or a full motor that will bolt to the bellhousing of a 4 speed

flyinwall, i'm guessing that you are talking about a complete motor dropped in?
Will it still match with the 4spd? Are these the engines out of the celicas?

they are the twin cam version of what is already in there and yes they are from the celica but most were twin carb models but there are a few efi models around you will just have to search for them or you could just get efi off a camira amd modify the intake to suit the 18 r and run the delco computer that came from the camira (it just needs to be remapped to suit the bigger motor ,,,someone please correct me if i am wrong)

so get a cheap camira, and rip all the loom and stuff out, i used to have one and it was the 2 litre injected camira, will the 2 litre one go straight on or still have to be mapped, also much work in wiring it up or just hook it to pulse on coil and that feeds the computer, would i need a crank angle sensor, 02 sensor etc etc
sorry to pick your brain so hard

Buy a 22RE Corona and gut the motor and efi out of it.
