Has anyone tried a water weting agent/ product such as Redline to improve cooling efficiency?

That stuff works well *IF* you have a hiclone or two as well as one of those rubber strips on your rear bar that touches the ground.

I use it in my off road racer and have done for 5 years,it does work, remember though it doesnt have any anti freeze qualities

it wont fix other problems with you cooling system

a lot of offroad motorcross and enduro riders use it. does it work? who knows but a lot of top race bikes and cars run it.

I'm not entirely sure but if you take the letter f out of the word 'way' you'll see how well it works

i've been using toyota longlife in my zuk and its going great - runs cooler and the coolant lasts way longer. no need for additives if you use a good coolant IMO.

Most inhibitors actually reduce the heat transfer ability of the water in the cooling system. Straight water will transfer heat better but has no corrosion inhibitor properties. Most 'coolants' lower the freezing temperature of the water also.

Water Wetter improves the heat transfer abilities of the water & the pink coloured Redline product is also an inhibitor - but not an 'antifreeze'. It is compatible with all other coolants that I know of - so antifreeze can be added to it. Being as it is not glycol based the normal Castrol test strips are unable to test it. It virtually has no colour so a sticker needs to be put on the radiator support panel to let mechanics know that it is present.

Water Wetter simply improves the cohesion of the water so that as the water is flowing past the cylinders it follows the cylinder wall all the way around so that no voids are created on the opposite side of the cylinder to the water flow. This removes more heat from the cylinder and prevents steam pockets from occuring.

Actually from what I know about it, it thins the water to flow better and does the stuff that bowtie landy says.

you reduce the surface tension of it, and make it 'stick' to surfaces better.

for want of a better analogy, a wetting agent is like detergent to "wash" the heat from your engine into the coolant. it does work but is not necessary unless you're running at the bleeding edge of the capacity of your cooling system, or you are trying to mask problems with same.

I used it in all of my race cars. Overheating was never one of our engine failures. I still use it in my rock crawler.

The worms are out of the can now.
Has anyone actually tried Redline without glycol based coolant in system, just water and the water weter?
I am thinking of trying it in my Water to Air IC.
Seams like alot of race cars, Gocarts and Motor X use it for safety reasons and cooling performance.
Seams like the cooling benifit from Redline might be a result of just using straight water without anti freeze/ glycol.

Yep I run water wetter with water only in a gen 3 , no issues at all
