What a disappointment

Post by legsx1 »

Drove two hours to Landcruiser park on Friday afternoon to watch the winch challenge.

Man it was no winch challenger at all, four trucks involved and over the three stages, there were 4 places they had to winch.

Very very disappointed in what I saw - you boys need to get over to NZ and see our winch chalenges. They are challenges.

On top of that they gate staff made me pay $28 for 1 hour of watching trucks. They couldnt even start on time - 1 hour late.

Then I drove back to Mooloolaba another two hours

SORRY GUYS BUT I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED

legsx1 mate dont let that event disapoint you as it isn,t 1 of the rounds
it is just something to do on friday night befor all the flat track type stuff that they have at mayday so go and watch one of the XWC rounds or sss
dave has a good range of stuff in his events and peter puts on some tuff stages .
so comps in oz arnt all like that one you watched so mate make your way to rocky for the next XWC and see what you think then .you could even marshall just call dave.
cheers jason

Expo

My photo's (around 120+) can be found at http://www.xtreme4x4sport.com.au/Expo-0 ... tartFrom=0 Please enjoy.

Hi Legsx1, you should have come over and made your self known to Peter & myself. A few competitors & myself were up at LMP helping Stirlo with the Friday night and Saturday night "Winch Challenge Demo" and yes it was not what you NZ are used to (no mud), we like rock and jump ups.

There is nothing more boring then watching every vehicle winch a mud hole or a hill, the crowd like to see some driving and hear the noise of the vehicles as well.

Just a very quick note on what I have seen of NZ winch challenges, you appear to drive into a mud hole and winch out, which is more like Malaysia, where as here in Queensland our competitors do not really like mud all the time and enjoy demanding winching and some speed in between.

I used to run the Expo winch challenge demo's and it is very hard working in an area that has been loved to death.

I must congratulate Stirlo for setting up good SS for what he had to work with. Saturday night saw several winches in one Stage.

Even if the courses were not supposedly tough they still managed to break a couple of vehicles on these supposed easy SS.

Cheers

Went up Sat morning and came home today and had a ball.

Didn't get to do much driving sadly but managed to do the pigpen hole in my unlocked shitbox on 33's

That twin turboed Gen 3 Patrol is tough as nails as well as that Supercharged Patrol, both nice vehicles.

The rally cross setup was good watching, some nice jumps from those involved.

Big thank you to the Office staff who pulled through with being able to lend me a pressurised hose to clean the mud out of the radiator, next time will try to flush that out sooner before it sets lol.

And to the idiot in the white 75 series Cruiser that was doing donuts and being a general @#$!@#ing idiot at the pigpen on Saturday, I hope something happens to your truck or your license before you kill someone........
If its not upside down and on fire, I'm not trying hard enough.......

Yeah I know that but this guy was doing it between the parked trucks on the outer rim and even lost it into a tree..............

didn't watch friday night but watched some of the gymkhana events sat morning and then the rally in the afternoon.
my car was out of action after friday lunchtime due to losing all brakes coming down the steeper section of club rally. split front right brake line.
sunday we missed all the events due to my mates rb30 patrol's alternator deciding to die at the bottom of club rally first thing in the morning, double winched with a disco for two hours to safety at the top.

the rally on the figure 8 circuit was fantastic to watch and the silver jeep on saturday heats surely would have jumped the furthest, the driver must be mad.

Great Event

Always a blast.

The CQ boys did really well and all the OFFROAD CARTEL clothing boys did really well.
Other than the barrel races all the boys were in the finals in everything they did.

Here's some photos.

Personally i think bundy rum has alot to answer for...everyone i know who drinks rum gets violent and at the events sat night i was close to being hit by 3 guys, all pi55ed idiots holding rum cans, even seen a few very drunk guys reverse into another 4wd owned by a mum dad and 3 kids just trying to enjoy the atmosphere, i think there is to much drink driving going on out there at events, will take a death for someone to act, just my 2c

That is the biggest cop out by the people who cause the trouble. I can’t stand people using that as an excuse to why they get in a fight. It is pretty well all I drink and I am by no means punchy on it and have plenty of mates who are the same. I don’t think it would matter what they drank they would still be looking for fights.

The guy who got chased and touched up was doing doughnuts dangerously close to a crowd of people who asked him not quite so politley if he would mind ceasing this sillyness, he replied by launching a fishtail in front of them showering them and their vehicles with mud and rocks. So they raced after him managed to pull him over and dragged him, crying like a school girl, out of his car and proceeded to explain to him the error of his ways in a manner he would remember next time the need to do silly things overcame him. :D
