The problem is that you have already completed the mods. Engineers don't like that. They prefer you contact them before the build starts so they can get in on the ground floor.
I'm going through a similar thing atm. I've PM'd you some names.

get in touch with the NSW RTA and get their list of approved engineeres then ring them and find out. These days many engineers won't even bother to look at a completed vehicle so in most cases any recommendations given wil be useless. Also costs will depend on so many factors that it would be hard to give you an estimate. it could be $500 or it could $3500
Ransom note = demand + collage
thats if they arent adapting NCOP like some Vic engineers, in which case you probably wont. Word from a Newcastle based engineer bout a week ago was that the RTA has advised them to continue working to the present rules. NCOP was not relevant at this present time.bogged wrote:thats if they arent adapting NCOP like some Vic engineers, in which case you probably wont. Best bet is to contact some engineers based engineers and have a chat to them.

Last time I went thouigh this BS my engineer said there would be a transition period, best to ask your engineer and the RTA where you stand, I'm sure people will for or against this point of view so again ask your engineer and the RTA these are the only people who matter in the end. Personally I found Consulmotive easy to deal with, he might be a sticker for the rules but what's the point of a cert if it's not legit.

I've heard a couple of things that could cause a problem with engineering.
The RTA have decided that anything with 35s now has to have an "abridged brake test" before they'll accept the engineer's certificate and the engineer isn't supposed to write the certificate without it. That test supposedly takes about half a day and costs thousands. It's going to ruin a set of tyres and maybe brakes. [edit - forget this, it's already in another thread.]
I've also heard that one of the engineers in Newcastle (in Garden Suburb?) is being investigated by the RTA. Apparently they didn't like a zuke with 44" tyres. They're sending letters to owners saying to take their vehicle to Carrington pits, then defecting them.
Does anyone know any more about this?

Dont know any more on this, but I have heard the same thing. I know a few people with rigs engineered by the "Garden Suburb" Engineer and they are members here, so im sure it will pop up if it is true.Allie wrote:I've heard a couple of things that could cause a problem with engineering.
