Navara

Post by Danny148 »

Hello,

Looking at buying a 2003 Nissan navara, and just wanted some tips to what to look out for and is it a good 4wd? Also does it have coils or leaf in the back??

Cheers

leaf spring rear end, torsen front end.
rear springs usually sag fairly quick so check to see if they have been replaced or not. if your looking a lifting it then replacing factory leaf springs is the first step.

2003 is about the time they recon they "fixed" the ZD30. hopefully you get a good one. (i assume 3 litre diesel not sure if you guys got the petrol ones there).

main thing to look for is signs of poor maintance.

only main downside is the weak r180 front diff and the lack of lockers for it. if you don't mind spending some $$$ you can fit the larger r200 front diff which is stronger and get lockers for.

have a look at http://www.navara.asia/forum.php

My old mans got a navara ute 02, 03 3LT turbo diesel. He loves it. The only problem is the sh!t suspension. He's put a snorkel, bull bar and maxiss big horns on it. He's mad as sh!t in it, he follows me almost everywhere, in my GU. He managed to drive camp road at cruiser park.
