Hi,
I love the way Jeeps look and sound, although i have herd bad things about them being very soft..
If i buy a jeep it would have pretty much put straight in like 4-5 inch lift, 35's, f&r airs, and maybe even so engine mods.
I woudl say that after these mods the jeep would be very capable although is it even worth it, or will it break a lot, eg box's diffs trannys..??

Looking at buying a jeep

I cant speak of any bar the wrangler, which I have had 2.
I have driven 4wd all my life, as part of my working life and for pleasure.
IMO the wrangler is the best 4wd on the market, out of the showroom floor no other will come close, add some enhancements, and you rule.
I now drive a suzi sierra, nice fun little toy, cheap as chips, but not a wrangler.
Im waiting for some rubicons to come on the used market, thats my choice.

If it breaks, excellent, time for an upgrade
I think as with any truck .. if you flog the ring out of it you'll break it.
35's on the standard dana 30 front diff may be an issue .. options are .. upgraded axle's / high pinion 30 ? or perhaps look at a 40 for the front.
Lots of guys run 35's on the dana 30 .. and wheel them hard .. it's just about knowing the limits.
With 4-5 inches of lift your also going to need a slip yoke eliminator.. plus drive shafts.. so there is some extra coin to think about.
Being a short wheel base it wont be the best tourer .. also with that amount of lift you would probably want to look at long arm .. though with the incoming laws I'm not sure of anywhere that would be legal.
Most of the above is TJ centric .. though some / most will also apply to the JK.

Nah that's to help save burning mates yotasdanssurf82 wrote:pretty strong components, my mates with jeeps never break anything, thats with 35's.... reliable trucks... but they all carry fire extinguishers(it must be a jeep thing)
But back to the OP - what model of Jeep are you looking for otherwise we could be here for a while.....
