Buyin an FJ40 - Need ideas :-)

Post by matsmad »

Im lookin at buyin a 1973 FJ40. Original petrol motor n 4 speed. I want to know where to get front doors, preferably fibreglass/cut down style, as doors r missing. And how u go about windows for cut doors??? Pics? Also needs a front bar. It has commodore seats mounted on top of a long range tank (full width). Is this easy to get mod plated? It has no rego or RWC. Cheers :-)

G`day guys,

I have a set of doors exactly the type you are after.... Eureka off road in Dandenong is where you can get them... when I bought mine ... 3 years ago they cost $600. per pair.. Ken Dixon is the man you want to speak to, and if I remember correctly they will take about 6 weeks to get them in so be prepared for a wait as Ken gets them made as he needs them.

Also just so you know Ken is the guru in Melbourne when it comes to 40 series cruisers If he doesn`t know about it... then it doesn`t exsist. he also has, fibre glass extended front guards, fibre glass gt bonnets. tube side rails, roll bars, bull bars and specializes in total re-builds and all manner of custom mods.... If you need to know more??? and have a few spare hours.. have a talk to him. once he opens up... he dosn`t stop. also prepare your wallet... cause when I go it always costs me heaps cause when I get in there I`m like a kid in a lollie shop, I just want one of everything... lol :P   :D

P.S I love my 40 series... and wish to be buiried in it cause no-one can love it as I do, tough rugged and go-anywhwere....
Mine: A Tough little fj40
and a 105 series diesel

G`day,

OK OK lets not make a competition about this.....cause..... I win.I saved mine from going off a cliff when I first got it and it payed me back by NOT breaking down for the first 4 years... So my 40 loves me back... lol :D :D
