Heavy duty rubber for mud flaps?
Where do you get sheets of that thick rubber for mud guards/flaps????
God of Magnificant Ideas!
Clark Rubber as for cost it depends on the thickness and width of the rubber, bought some today to make some of those inner guard flaps, 1.5mm x 200mm = $9.50/m some of the thicker stuff is up to $40/m

Conveyor source in Brisbane
I rang this place in Brissy and told the bloke (Roger) i needed a couple of pieces about 300 x 2000 and between 5mm and 10mm thick. He said I could rat through their scrap bin and take what I wanted. OR if there wasn't anything in the scrap bin suitable he'd sell to me out of stock for about $50.
FYI, here's their details:
Pit Top Conveyor Products
Unit 8, 47 Overlord Place
Acacia Ridge QLD 4110
Phone: (07) 3272 0000

I got a sheet of a hard plastic from Revolution Racegear... It is what the rally guys use.
Expensive, @ $83 for a 1.5 metre length, but man it is tough...
A Collegue had a set on his 80 that did 2 Safari's and countless km's at High Speed on gravel (inc over 200kph for long periods) and they survived for years...
Mine have been on for about 12 month, and my tyres rub on them, and they are holding up well. Best investment i have made
If your after Cheap, why not duct tape some shopping bags on the guard

One of my mates has the same setup on his jeep and it works nicely as well
What I want to do is on the back of a ute with a flat tray. The tray covers the tyre but there is no guard or mudflap.
I have seen some winch challenge type rigs with a whole guard made out of rubber sheet. Anyone got any pics of that kinda setup?
I'll have to have a look around and see if i can get a picture of what i'm talking about.
