Im particularly asking about the front axles, to get to the diff.
Is it possible to get the axles out by just removing wheels, brake caliper, king pin bolts, C brackets and disconnecting the swivel hub tie rods?
Will the axle just slide out, connected to the swivel hub in one piece? More importantly, will it go back in just as easy?
Or does the swivel hub have to be stripped down (wheel bearings etc)?
Thanks
Mike

What is the simplest way to remove sierra front diff?

Take off the hub, remove the brake caliper, pull off the disk brake (if it hasn't been done in a while then there it 2 tapped threads it it just find a bolt and screw away), there is four bolts sitting behind that pull them out and your CV's should slide out. Try to not let the CV sit on the outer axle seal because for the next 2 days they will leak. Getting them back in is easy but it may take some fidling to get the splines to line up again...

Im doing my swivel hubs at the moment, But am not ready to do the diff yet.
I tried this arvo to slide the axle/cv into the diff with the swivel fitted, but after 10 mins, just could not get it to line up! so i removed the swivel again and i got the axle into the diff within 20seconds!
And this was on the short side! Am i just totally unco-ordinated, or is it difficult for everybody?
