Body swap from J Top to Hard Top, Rear Diff Lock Problem

Post by nicinnz »

Hi there I am currently swapping over body's I am putting a hard top body on my JTop chassis as the running gear in the hard top is shot.
The problem is there is no wiring in the hard top for the rear diff lock and would need to swap over the entire loom which ain't gonna happen.
Has any one wired up the air pump for the rear diff lock and how is it done.
Cheers

Is the wiring run down the rear chassis with a plug in it or is it the piece that operates the switch thats missing?

Many of them have the plug there but not the short peice of wiring - easy to conect up.

There is no wiring for the compressor under the LHR window. There is also no wiring for the switch. There is a heap of wiring for the height control which I am not going to use. Can I just Wire up the compressor to power to engage the lock, and will it just disengage when there is no power to the compressor?

Is the switch on the diff housing just to operate the warning light?

I believe so. Its there to switch the "rear diff lock" orange light on the dash. Lets the 4wd module know it has engaged correctly.

Yes.

And yes, the wiring is just for the light.
