measuring ride height for engineering

Post by TomZook »

Recently had the go ahead from an engineer to finish building my zook toy thing.

To save me money on the engineer having to go out and measure a standard 95' maruti ute i was hoping someone could measure theirs and take a photo of the measurement. Does not have to be exactly this year but the same model.

The engineer has requested a photo of the measurement to the bottom of the door sills, and photo of the vin plate in the engine bay of the same vehicle.

Help is appreciated. . . Tom

Your Engineer should already know this

Go to http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/pls/wwws ... ify_Search and enter the make and model then select 'All' for Status ánd click on search and it will bring up a number of variants. Select your one and look at the suspension data and it will tell you the height from centre of the hub to the top of the wheelarch for a standard vehicle as submitted for approval for use on Australian roads.

unfortunately cant use the information specified based on the gaurds being trimmed and custom tray.

Engineer specifically asked for measurement to sills.

If all else fails, I have a standard height 83 LWB that I can measure off. Not sure if it's the same as a Maruti though.

do the poor bloke a favour and jack up the body a touch too =P if the engineer cant find measurements its only fair the client's supplied ones are slightly biased towards him =P

Tyres to 50 psi, everything out of the vehicle (spare tyre etc) then measure a dead vertical measurement while the car is on a (bit of a) hill ;)
