I have spoken to exhaustfix & he is very busy at the moment he apologises & will try to get back on when things settle down & he has more time.

he would have to know lengths to give an answer for that, and a LWB will obviously be more than a SWB.

people can still ask questions, its not going to hurt anybody... just dont expect a quick reply. as you say, he will try and get back on, so y not still ask and be patient?

exactly.. I only been waiting 12 odd mths for a reply.. Actually went elsewhere and got an exhaust fitted 6 mths ago :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :lol: :lol:

Ross not sure if this has been covered too many pages now to fully read and I've only just come by this thread:

In general terms what is the corelation between perforation hole size and spacing for either good airflow or noise reduction when making mufflers.

My question is a bit general but does relate to some bike mufflers I made a while ago. I remember someone telling me that my hole size was a bit big but they didn't state whether it was bad for flow or noise reduction. The second not being a major consideration for my old Ducati.

The system was 100mm outer sleeves, 48mm i/d perforated inner cores wrapped in stainless steel wool and the whole lot was stainless. Holes were 2.5mm with an open area of about 50-60% from memory.

I'd like to know what affects what as far as perforation layout goes when making other mufflers for various projects. I know a guy that makes bike mufflers for a semi living and he uses the old Conti (original old old Ducati mufflers and said to be the ducks nuts of the era) reverse spiral perforation patterm in most of his stuff but he won't share what this actually is only that he had to lay an old example out and spray over it on to paper like a template to work out how to set it out.

Oh crap now I've bothered to read the last couple of pages I realise why I've not noticed this thread before. Oh well case sarah sarah or ca-se-ra-se-ra whatever will be will be.
